Noonday Missions
Annie Armstrong: Easter Mission
The Annie Armstrong offering was started in 1895 by Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) to benefit the work of the North American Mission Board). In 1934, it was named in honor of Annie Armstrong, a bold missions advocate and WMU's first national executive leader. Today, more than $2 billion has been donated by Southern Baptist churches and individuals to support thousands of missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries. Because of this sacrificial giving, millions of lives have been and continue to be transformed by the power of the gospel.
Operation Christmas Child
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. For over 50 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done their utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We at Noonday have partnered alongside them for Operation Christmas Child. Every year our entire church packs shoe boxes full of gifts for children in need so that they can experience the love of Jesus.
Lottie Moon: Christmas Mission
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected by Southern Baptists to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially.
Haiti VBS
Noonday Baptist Church has been partnering with The Baptist Church of Salt and Light in Cap Hatien, Haiti since 2006. We anticipated about 50 kids but had 124 show up and many salvations! Every year since then, we have provided the supplies (crafts, music, teaching materials, new soccer equipment) and finances to host up to 400 children for a 4-day VBS, complete with snacks and a meal during the event. One of the most satisfying results of our partnership has been seeing participants of the VBS grow up to be leaders themselves. Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and it is our mission to show them the love of God is available no matter where you are!
