COVID-19 Noonday Updates
UPDATE: Thursday, August 6, 2020
Dear Noonday Family:
I want to start off by saying a huge “Thank You!” to all our volunteers who helped make opening our Sunday morning childcare such a great success! We could not have proceeded with Phase 3 of our plan without you. It was so good to have our children back in their classrooms and to see some more families back on campus. Our protocol plan worked well and we look forward to welcoming back more children on Sunday mornings. This Sunday, we will continue with one service only at 10:00am with Childcare offered at the same time for ages birth through 5th Grade. All safety protocols will remain in place and we ask that you follow all signs and directions from our volunteers. Here is a reminder of our childcare protocols:
Protocol for Sunday morning Childcare:
Entry to the building will be through the Guest Entrance on the ground level. The outside doors leading into the Preschool area will be locked and used for “Exit” only.
Temperatures will be taken inside the door at the Guest Entrance.
ALL children, birth through 5th Grade, will be checked in at the Preschool Desk using a touchless system. No kiosks will be used at this time. A volunteer will take contact cell numbers and information from the parents at check-in.
Our volunteers will direct children ages 4 through 5th Grade to their classrooms. Parents of younger children will be directed by a volunteer to their child’s room.
Classrooms and all touch surfaces will be disinfected before and after each class. Sanitizer will be available in each classroom. As much as possible, classroom materials (crayons, pencils) will not be shared.
Every effort will be made to keep social distancing a priority in each classroom.
We are in the process of gearing up for our Wednesday night activities to begin on August 26th. Our AWANA program and Student Ministry will be revamped for better social distancing as well as several adult Bible Study classes which will be offered. Our men’s and women’s ministries are already meeting monthly with the next women’s event this month, a Tea Party and time of worship on August 22nd at 10:00am. Things are happening at Noonday and I can truly say as the Psalmist said, it is good to be in the house of the Lord with my fellow believers.
This Sunday is the last day to accept Deacon Nominations. If you haven’t already, you can go to our website: noondaychurch.org and click on the “Events” tab for “Deacon Nominations 20-21.” There you can read the Qualifications for Deacons and make your selections.
Worship this Sunday:
This week, we will continue worshiping together in the Worship Center with one service only at 10:00am with Childcare offered downstairs from birth through 5th Grade. Online streaming is always accessible on YouTube by clicking this link:

We have a continuing need for disinfectant sprays and disinfectant wipes for the safety and protection of all. If you can find them, please bring to the church office.
Thank you to all who continue to bring in food donations for MUST Ministries to help provide for families in need in Cobb and Cherokee Counties.
It would be our honor to pray for you if you have a need. Please let us know how we can pray for you specifically by contacting our online prayer list at

This is an exciting time in our church as we begin to gather more as a church body. It’s been a trying time and we still have to exercise caution but let’s always remember that God is good and in Him, we have nothing to fear in our circumstances. I am glad to be part of a body of believers who are so encouraging to each other at a time like this. Remember to continue to look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others as we strive for spiritual unity in our church and continue to trust in God for our peace and comfort in all things. God is good all the time, He is our strength and will carry us through if we trust in Him and learn to fully depend on Him.
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble;
He knows those who take refuge in him.” Nahum 1:7
Have a blessed week!
Dr. Mark Somers,
