Noonday Baptist Church is a community of people who believe their relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing that has ever happened to them. At Noonday, we believe in Passionately Reaching People for Christ. We desire to fulfill this purpose by becoming a World-Impacting Church, a Community-Reaching Church, an Evangelistic Church, a Spiritually-Healthy Church, an Embracing Church and an Innovative Church.
What We Believe
As a church, we know what we believe is very important, not only because it defines who we are, but it also directs where we go. We voluntarily cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention and our mutual beliefs are outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message
In June 1835 twelve dedicated Christians met in the northern edge of infant Cobb County, Georgia and organized Noonday Baptist Church.
The first church meeting house was made of rough hewed logs with a dirt floor and log slabs for seats. It was located within "shouting" distance of our present location on Canton Road in Marietta, Georgia. During the last 174 years we have built and worshiped in six different worship centers, have added educational space several times, built a Family Life Center/Gymnasium and have a recreation area behind the facilities on the West Campus. We moved into our present facility on the east side of Canton Road on June 24, 2007. Both the East and West Campuses are utilized in our ministry efforts.
Through years of wars, depression, times of fellowship, grief and joy; from the 12 charter members to over 1000 strong; from total receipts of $5.00 in 1836 to a budget of over a million dollars in 2009, our Vision still remains the same today—“To Passionately Reach People For Christ.”
