God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone." (Genesis 2: 18)

Then He said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." (Genesis 2:24)

"This reason" is the holy ordinance of marriage.  From the beginning God intended marriage to be a lifetime union between one man and one woman. It is a covenant between the bride, the groom and God; it is a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His church.
